Aims
The main goal of the AngioLaus sub-study was to obtain a detailed cardiovascular phenotype in a subset of the CoLaus participants. In order to do so, 350 hypertensive cases and 150 normotensive controls underwent additional phenotypization.
What data were collected?
In particular, we measured:
- Intima-media thickness (IMT) in the carotid arteries and the presence of plaques in the carotid and femoral arteries
- Pulse-wave velocity
- Central arterial pressure
- Endothelial function before and during reactive hyperemia.
Current phase
AngioLaus started in 2006. Data collection was finished in 2007. No follow-up is scheduled. The data have been analyzed.
500 individuals participated.
